Chromix

Chromix is a wardrobe-assistance app that simplifies outfit selection for people with colour blindness. It helps users identify and coordinate colours with ease. By combining accessibility with style, Chromix empowers its users to express themselves freely and approach everyday dressing with confidence.

Overview

For people with Colour Vision Deficiency (CVD or colour blindness), choosing what to wear can be a daily challenge. When certain colours look alike, matching outfits becomes an incredibly confusing and frustrating experience. Not to mention, most traditional fashion apps offer little support beyond visual cues. Without clear guidance, people with CVD are left unsure whether their clothes actually go together.

Introducing Chromix: an app that makes outfit planning simple and stress-free. Chromix identifies the colours in a clothing item, explains them in easy-to-understand language and suggests combinations that work well together. Users can organise and filter their wardrobe, plan outfits, and confidently create cohesive looks. By removing the guesswork from colour choices, Chromix helps its users build confidence in their style and navigate their wardrobe with clarity and ease.

Features

Colour Identification

The Colour Identification feature lets users upload a photo or use their camera to identify the colours in any garment. It breaks each item down into clear, easy-to-understand information, including the overall colour name, a detailed colour name, the percentage of red, green, and blue, and a brief summary of the colour. The feature also highlights existing items in the user’s closet that match, helping users quickly find complementary pieces and plan outfits with confidence.

Quick Match – Outfit Ratings

The Quick Match feature lets users select two clothing items and instantly see how well they go together. Each combination is rated out of 5 stars and includes a short description explaining the colours and why they work together. A detailed breakdown shows the characteristics of each item, allowing users to compare categories such as type, pattern and formality. Quick Match helps users experiment with outfit combinations, understand colour relationships and confidently create coordinated looks from their wardrobe.

The Closet

The Closet feature allows users to explore, manage, and add items to their wardrobe. Users can filter by category or type to quickly find what they need. Opening an item reveals a dedicated page with the image, name, and description, followed by three sections: Item Details, showing key garment information that can be updated by the user; Colour Guide, breaking down all the colours in the item; and Matches, displaying other items in the closet that coordinate well. This feature helps users organise their wardrobe, understand each item, and discover outfit combinations with ease.
